PRO Rehabilitation Services focuses its philanthropic efforts on supporting the Colleen Shea Children’s Foundation. The Foundation was established in February 2002 to honor the memory of Collen Shea and to achieve her dreams of making a positive difference in the lives of those she touched. The mission of the Foundation is to help serve the needs of children through charitable fund-raising and community service. The Board of Directors is composed of friends, family and business associates of Colleen who recognize the love Colleen showed for children and her desire to be a positive influence in their lives.

The proceeds from the Foundation’s annual “Spring Fling” and various other fundraising projects are used to benefit children’s programs and organizations in our community. Some of the beneficiaries of the Colleen Shea Children’s Foundation are:

• The Wyoming Valley Children’s Association
• The Speech, Language and Hearing Center at Misericordia University
• Camp Victory
• The John B. McGlynn Learning Center
• The Colleen Shea Memorial Playground at Pittston Area School District Primary Center
• Greater W-B Association for the blind - "Camp Sight"
• The Ronald McDonald House in Scranton
• King's College
• Kiss Theatre

Colleen Shea

Colleen Shea was a young, bright and enthusiastic woman who possessed a great love for children. Born October 26, 1973, she was a native of Pittston where she lived with her parents, Pat and Nancy, and her brother, Patrick and sister, Kim. Colleen attended Pittston Area High School where she graduated in the top ten of her class in 1991. At the age of 15, she began employment at a local supermarket and, along with various babysitting jobs, was able to work her way through college.

She received her B.S. in Accounting from King’s College, Wilkes-Barre in 1995. During her senior year of college, she began an accounting internship and continued her career in public accounting with Prociak & Associates, L.L.C. Colleen was very active in her parish, Blessed Sacrament Church in Hughestown, where she also served as a religious education instructor. She had a great love for her brother and sister, and played a special role in the lives of her close friends’ children. Colleen was also very active in many community organizations offering her time for volunteer work and serving on various boards and committees.

On October 19, 2001, Colleen’s life was cut short when she was the victim of a tragic automobile accident. The Colleen Shea Children’s Foundation was established in her memory to make a difference in the lives of children.

PRO Rehabilitation Donation

In celebration of the Tenth Anniversary of PRO Rehabilitation Services in November 2007, the company presented the Colleen Shea Children’s Foundation a donation of $10,000. Start Heart Walk

Employees of PRO Rehabilitation Services and PRO Fitness Club recently participated in the 2008 Start Heart Walk at PNC Field in Moosic.

Start Heart Walk

Employees of PRO Rehabilitation Services and PRO Fitness Club recently participated in the 2008 Start Heart Walk at PNC Field in Moosic.

Mike Lench, Manager of PRO Fitness Club, and PRO Rehab employees helped the walkers warm up by leading them through a series of stretching exercises prior to the walk.

Salvation Army

Employees of PRO Rehabilitation Services adopted a needy family for the holidays through the auspices of the Salvation Army. The project was coordinated by Physical Therapy Assistant Laura Frank. Employees donated presents for the entire family and food for several dinners.
